Hello friends, family, and neighbors!

I want to start off by saying that connecting with those of you I have been fortunate to meet over the past weeks has been a wonderful experience. I am thankful for the support I have received and excited to hear more of your stories.
What has humbled me most while canvassing is the kindness and support extended. I have met wonderful people that have welcomed me to warm up while knocking on doors over the weekends (which somehow always seem to be the coldest or windiest days).
For those that may not have been home when I knocked on your door, or are just learning about me, I want to provide you with a better understanding of what you can expect from me and how I would handle business as your alderman.
I am starting this Words from the District 5 Candidate page to connect with you and keep you informed as to where I stand on issues, and what's currently happening in our city’s politics. I will be sharing press releases and more here moving forward.
I look forward to hearing feedback, thoughts, and ideas on how we can work together to make sure that our city's future is one that is inclusive of its constituents. We can work together to plan, develop, and properly finance development projects that generate revenue, support local businesses while embracing our city’s motto: Celebrating Quality of Life, now and long into the future.
Thank you!
Marcelino Rivera III
