My Hobbies
My family and I are National Park enthusiasts. We love being able to take time to get away from the busy city life and connect with nature.
I enjoy skateboarding and being active. You may have seen my dog and I walking or him pulling me on my skateboard through the Root River Heights area.
I am an artist by nature. When I was a child, I would draw everything in sight. My childhood drawings were where I first turned my vision and ideas into reality.
By the time I made it to high school, I had a couple of my art pieces displayed in museums in Washington and The Milwaukee Art Museum. My favorite piece was titled “Little Things That Make the Big Things Go.” It was three pair of pliers flying in space over the horizon of earth.
Of all my hobbies, writing is the one that allows me to express myself, think things through, and prevent or alleviate stress. I love all forms of writing, but poetry is my favorite.
I have always loved music. The soundtrack of my life is one filled with many genres. From my days as a kid listening to my mother jam out to Pat Benatar or sing lyrics of the late great Tom Petty, or my high school days of singing Chatahoochie, music has always managed to make me smile and help me to understand that from struggles and challenges, greatness can be created. Art can be created.
Over the course of the past year during the pandemic I have self-taught myself to play the piano and have been working on creating my own music, including production.
I am very handy and enjoy carpentry and small refurbishing projects. I built a custom wood work bench with a miter saw that folds down and the table doubles as a large table saw surface. it is nice to keep my tools organized as well.
These are some of the hobbies I have put aside for now to focus on and run this campaign so that I can become your 5th District Alderman and stand up for the community of Franklin.
